Salman’s Dabaang look is actually growing on me and I kind of like it now. For the announcement of Big Boss 4, he paired a skull jacket with a simple pair of jeans and yeah! he rocked it. The 1000 watt jacket, he carried it off brilliantly!

Salman turns bad boy in Mr.India-2

SFX was far from developed back when Mr. India was made. Despite the lack of special effects, the film was a visual delight, thanks to some brilliant camera tricks. However, the sequel, which is being made now, is going to not just have the best special effects but also be shot in 3D.

Boney Kapoor, who is making the film right now, believes that 3D would be a wonderful experience, given the subject of the movie. He admits that they have been considering the idea for a while now, but things were finalized only a few days ago.

Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, who were the leads in Mr. India will be reprising their roles in the sequel too while Salman Khan will be playing the villain. Anil and Sridevi last appeared together in the 1997 movie, Judaai.

The budget of the film is about Rs.100 crore, seeing as the technology that is being used and also because foreign technicians will be doing Salman’s look in the movie. The makers hope Salman’s negative role creates a history of sorts in Bollywood.

Boney thinks it will be a challenge for the team, as Salman has never done a negative role before. There will also be a young couple in the film. Though Boney hasn’t decided on who will play the couple, he states that there is a possibility of them being known faces. Two writers are working on two different scripts for the film. Boney will be choosing one of them.

Kat reveals her fitness secrets!

Katrina Kaif is currently reigning over Bollywood owing to the killer combination of perfect face, figure and talent. Men drool over the beautiful curves of the actress while women hope to get a hot body like her. Talking to a news daily, the actress revealed her fitness secrets, “It took me 18 days to get into shape. My trainer Yasmin worked out a programme with a set target to look the way I am in this photograph. If you need to lose weight or get into shape, your mind and body must be co-ordinated.”

“You have to be in a happy state while exercising. All I said to myself before getting into a short ghagra-choli is, ‘I must look right for it.’ The dance rehearsals were also one form of exercise. I am a fairly healthy eater. I don’t eat pizzas and pakodas. I prefer Chinese and Japanese cuisine. A lot of it is fish based,” said the actress, who is currently working for ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

The actress revealed that she is very busy this year and has a lot of films lined up. She is working for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Running with the Bulls’, Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Dostana-2’, Anurag Basu’s film with Ranbir Kapoor and Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’.

Katrina's new goal

Katrina has got a goal in her mind-to eradicate female infanticide and to shelter abandoned aged people.

She has started working towards it.Katrina Kaif visits the Azhagusirai village in Tamil Nadu, 29-km from Madurai along with her mother, Sussanne Turquotte,who heads an organisation called Relief Projects India (RPI) in Chennai.



Sussanne has been fighting female infanticide for years and Katrina, who empathises with the cause, is lending a hand. Poverty in Azhagusirai is so rife that families cannot afford to raise a girl child because of the evil social practise of dowry prevalent there.

Katrina and Sussanne have supervised the construction of a neo-natal and baby care centre in Azhagusurai that receives abandoned babies who are cared for by locals under the supervision of the RPI and a Rev Fr. Franz Xavier Dirberger from Germany who founded the Claretian Mercy Home in 1986.

Katrina is so involved that she just started a department dedicated to provide skill development facilities to children who are in the toddler age. She calls this wing ‘Little Darlings’. Kat is also keen to start a similar project closer to Mumbai where she can invest her time and energies into bringing a ray of hope into the lives of the less fortunate.

Salman and Katrina’s bouncers creates trouble!

It is a fact that celebrities have bouncers to keep them safe when they are in public. But just imagine what happens if the same guards creates trouble to them!

The news is that Salman’s bodyguards were seen dragging away a female reporter and eventually hurting her after Salman was leaving the venue of muhurat of Smita Thackeray’s film Society. Similarly Katrina’s bodyguard stepped on a journalist’s foot, forcing her to cry out in pain after the actress was leaving the venue of FICCI-FRAMES Conference.

The best part is that Salman was seen laughing as he saw the journalist was dragged away by the guards. But Katrina on the other hand expressed her concern to the journalist and even warned her guard to be more careful.

Here is where the difference lies!!!

Veer Movie Review

Veer could be called a magnanimous, gigantic, collossal bore!

The story of Veer is set in the year 1857, where Veer(Salman Khan) plays a Pindari warrior who not only aims to win back his tribes lost glory but also their homeland from the claws of the evil king of Madhavgardh played by Jackie Shroff. In the process, Veer falls in love with beautiful Yashodhara who happens to be the deceitful kings daughter. Veer wins it all – glory and land of his tribe, avenges the death of his tribesmen from the evil king, mows down an entire battalion of the British army, wins the hand of Princess, and emerges successful in lighting the fire of patriotism and revolution in the people of Madhavgardh, the Pindaris and hence the Indians.

Salman Khan has been credited for the story of the film Veer. Unfortunately, Salman’s story has a lot of loopholes, poor characterization, and disappointing treatment above all. The good thing about the story is that it bought to attention the legend of the Pindari Warriors who were wiped off in a campaign led by General Hastings. The sad thing about the story is that justice was not done to a good theme.

Now, leaving all the critical and technical aspects, for the average cinegoer – Veer has very little to offer. Salman as Veer has put in a lot of effort to get the look and feel of the character right. Full marks to him. Although sometimes the Gladiator-cum-Achilles warrior-look and costumes looked rather odd in the Indian context. Sohail Khan is reduced to mere loony side kick who annoys more than anything else. Zarine Khan looks pretty but plastic, I dont see why they chose her over Katrina when she can’t even speak her own dialogues in the film. Much hyped- Lisa Lazarus of UK, is also a forgettable face in the firang crowd of the film.

Some dialogues were too over-the-top, the regular jingoistic fare of Anil Sharma movies (Gadar, Here etc.), but public cheered to it in the cinema hall… surprisingly. Some action sequences also won applause like when Salman breaks a sword with one hand as if it was a cookie! On the love story remains another obscure domain of the film – visible but unclear!

So… Even if you consider this as a ‘epic love story of a warrior’ and not a ‘historical docu-drama’, I’d still say ‘Disappointing’. (Wish there was somebody to pay me to say this )

My Verdict: Strictly for Salman Khan fans! Others can avoid!
