Kareena Kapoor wants Slim enough

If you thought Kareena Kapoor was slim enough, let us tell you that the actress hopes to lose more weight in 2008.Kareena was born to Sindhi-speaking Babita (nee Shivdasani) and Punjabi-speaking Randhir Kapoor on September 21, in Bombay, India. She has an elder sister, Karisma.

She is born in a family that have been actors for generations, including her paternal great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor; her grandfather, Raj Kapoor; her paternal uncles, Shammi, Shashi, Rishi, and Rajiv; as well as aunt, Neetu Singh, & Jennifer Kendall.

The wives of Rishi and Shashi respectively. On her maternal side, her grandfather, Hari Shivdasani, and aunt, Sadhana, have been actors in their own rights

As a child she studied in Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Bombay, and thereafter was enrolled in Dehra Dun's prestigious Welham Girls' Boarding School. Then she re-located to Harvard for approximately 3 months to take a course in Information Technology and Microcomputers.

Upon her return to India, she joined the Government Law College in Churchgate, Bombay, but left it after one year, to enroll in the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School.

When we bonded with Bebo on the sets of Golmaal Returns , and asked of her New Year resolution, she said, “I want to lose more weight, I really want to see myself slimmer in 2008.”

Well, the gorgeous gal is seen and heard now, but with further weight loss, one wonders if she’ll be seen at all.

Kareena's think towards her projects

Kareena had been lying low for the longest time before ‘Jab We Met’ happened. She says, “I truly wanted my work to talk. I know everyone around is indulging in PR exercises to keep themselves in the limelight. They go to parties and kind of manipulate their way through to get roles.

Today good PR seems to have become the most important thing. I simply cannot do that.

It is tough waiting for the right role to come your way, but I would still opt for that rather than just doing roles where you have to stand next to a superstar, just to be a part of the film. That’s not my scene. I would rather put my heart and soul into a role. God has been kind to me. I have been approached with meaty roles, always.”

I also believe in taking risks. ‘Jab We Met’ has kind of changed the rules, because it did well despite being a small film and woman-centric.

Geet (her character in the film) is the soul of the film.” Kareena says even if she does a film purely for money, she will have no regrets as she is not answerable to anyone.

“I am impulsive enough to do a film just because I want to make money at that point of time, but right now I don’t want to do that. I have dabbled in everything and come out a winner. But now that work is happening at a fast pace, Kareena is pining for a holiday.

“I am greedy for roles, and my next year is going to be exceptionally busy, with ‘Golmaal 2’, ‘Kambakht Ishq’ and one more film. I would love to go on a holiday and put my feet up. But my mom says now is the time to work hard, I can always holiday later,” she says with a smile.

After Saif came into her life, she has given a huge hit. Would she call him her lucky charm? Laughing loudly she says, “If people want to believe that, so be it. But frankly, that would be taking the credit away from Imtiaaz and my hard work.”

Kareena and Shahid's farewell kiss!

In all probability the two lovers had their last lip-lock on the sets of 'Jab We Met'.Now that both Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur have admitted they have separated, the picture is becoming clearer as to when they began drifting apart.

According to sources, the rift appeared mid-way through the making of 'Jab We Met'. When Shahid and Bebo began shooting the film they used to be upbeat and inseparable on the sets. Half way through the film they were not the same anymore.

However, sources say, the two actors never let their personal differences affect their work.So when director Imtiaz Ali asked them to shoot a passionate kissing scene, the two did not show any reservations.

Members from the film's crew say Shahid and Bebo had no difficulty in stoking up passion and giving a perfect kissing scene.Alas, it was only later that the news of their split came to the fore.So that was most likely the last time Shahid and Kareena kissed each other.

“I love babies” says Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor became an aunt again when her sister Karisma Kapoor gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

“I am thrilled to become a maasi again! I have just come back from the hospital. Lolo and the baby are healthy and fine. We are having a huge family get-together. Mom, dad, Samaira, Sanjay (Lolo’s husband), Saif and I are having a lovely family time together,” informed Kareena.

Bebo is so happy at her nephew’s birth that she has either cancelled or postponed all her impending work assignments by a week.

“Yes I have! Nothing – not even work can come between my babies and me! I love babies and I just can’t wait to hold Lolo’s baby in my arms and play with him. When Lolo is busy with the baby, Mom and I will take turns to baby sit Samaira.”

“I am looking forward to this break with great pleasure! I have already shopped for the baby’s clothes and toys and looking forward to giving them to him. This break is also a great way of my entire family coming together and bonding in a big way.” adds Kareena, excitedly.

Saif And Kareena In Knight And Day Remake

Bollywood’s glam pair Saif and Kareena is not only well-liked at home but also abroad! The sizzling pair, who has been vying to work together ever since their movie ‘Agent Vinod’ has been put on indefinitely, has now been approached by Fox Star Studios with a whopping offer. And if everything falls in place, then soon, Saif and Kareena will be seen reprising the role of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the desi remake of ‘Knight and Day’.

According to a source, the officials from the studio met the couple a few days ago. The source told a daily, “Saif was keen to do the remake of a Hollywood movie for quite some time and was already in talks with the production house. What’s more is that the production house held a screening of ‘Knight and Day’ and both Saif and Kareena liked the movie because of its genre, action-comedy. While talking about the same, Saif said, “We meet various people in the office – that’s what a production house does.

But Kareena and I have not met Fox Star together for a film.”Nevertheless, a source close to Fox Star said, “Yes, a meeting was called with Saif and Kareena”.

Kareena Kapoor scorches in blue on Maxim covers

Kareena Kapoor is on a high these days. Not only is she the reigning Bollywood style diva, she has many leading endorsement brands in her kitty. Her latest release ‘Kambakkth Ishq’ has received a grand opening at the box-office.

Now, she sizzles in blue as she appears on the cover of Maxim India edition for the month of July 2009. This is the second time she is scorching the covers of this magazine. And we do not blame the mag for this. When the copies with Kareena on the cover fly off the bookstalls, she will be the obvious choice as the cover girl.

Main Aur Mrs Khanna - Movie Review

Cast :: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Bappi Lahiri, Preity Zinta.

Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna, directed by debutante Prem Soni, could've been an interesting story had the drama quotient been a bit stronger. What comes across is too simple and ordinary.

Actually, the problem lies in its writing. It wouldn't be erroneous to say that Prem Soni, the director is letdown by Prem Soni, the writer. The writing gyrates from interesting to ordinary to unconvincing and that bogs the film down. The inconsistency is evident all through.

Raina [Kareena Kapoor], Samir [Salman Khan] and Akash [Sohail Khan] are three people whose lives get entwined at an international airport. Samir has to decide whether he wants to stay in the same city "Melbourne" that gave him so much and then took away everything or fly away to a new city "Singapore", to a new life.

Raina has to decide whether her love and loyalty for her husband Samir, who left her to pursue success, is more justified than her faith and trust in her new-found friend, while Akash has to decide whether what he feels for a married woman is lust or true love and whether he's justified in trying to win her at all costs, even at the cost of her marriage.

Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna makes a promising start. The cracks in the relationship are evident when the husband starts facing problems on the professional front. He tries to re-locate to Singapore, but decides to send his wife to Delhi, to his parents' home. Convincing!

The wife decides to stay back in Melbourne and suddenly meets an 'angel' [Sohail Khan] and a friend's friend [Mahek Chahal], who gets her a job at the airport [within hours of meeting her] and a few scenes later, Mrs. Khanna shifts into a palatial mansion. How can she afford a palace-like home in Melbourne from the salary that she gets, while working in a shop at the airport? Not convincing!

The wife and angel become friends. The angel is well aware of her marital status, yet loves her dearly. The woman trusts him as a friend. Convincing!

The husband re-surfaces. He's now settled in Singapore, has even bought a house there, he returns to Melbourne to fetch his wife back. Complications arise when the marriage registration letter surfaces. Not convincing!

The question is, why didn't the wife confide in her husband about it? That she had to do it for the work permit? Of course, she states subsequently that she didn't want to complicate things further, but didn't she ever realise that the truth would be out sooner or later?

Also, when the husband is in Singapore, there's scant or zilch communication between the couple, which looks so unreal. There's just one sequence of the wife calling her husband, but the husband isn't responding to the call. Again, not convincing!

The ending is interesting, but the surprise appearance of Deepika Padukone looks forced in the script. Perhaps, it was incorporated so that Sohail doesn't come across as a loser. Strangely, Deepika's name is also Raina [also Kareena's name in the film] and she too was in a relationship with a Samir [also Salman's name], which looks fake.

Prem Soni has handled a few scenes well, but the writing is ineffectual. Dialogue, also by Prem, are wonderful at places. Sajid-Wajid's music is tuneful. 'Don't Say Alvida' and 'Rabba' are melodious compositions. The cinematography is striking. The locales of Melbourne give the film a perfect romantic setting.

Salman handles his part with maturity, but it's a Kareena show all the way. She is remarkable and delivers a winning performance yet again. Sohail contributes to some light moments. Yash Tonk is alright. Mahek Chahal is perfect. Nauheed Cyrusi doesn't get any scope.

The film has several star appearances: Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta, Dino Morea and Bappil Lahiri.
