‘Rockstar’ is the next venture from the renowned director Imtiaz Ali (‘Jab We Met’anh 'Love Aaj Kal'). Ranbir Kapoor is the male protagonist of this film and Anushka Sharma had been picked by Imtiaz to play the leading female.
However, looks like, Anushka (who made her debut opposite Shahrukh ‘King’ Khan) isn’t destined to rock with Ranbir. Coz the buzz is that, Imtiaz’s shrewd eyes has spotted an obscured talent lurking in the fashion industry.
Mumbai model Diana Penty has been roped in to play the female lead as Imtiaz thought a fresh face would suit the script better than a known face of Anushka.
However, Imtiaz eventually decided that he wanted a new girl for his film and has finally zeroed down on Diana Penty. Incidentally, Diana has also done an ad film for a mobile service provider with Ranbir and was in the news when she replaced Deepika as a cosmetic brand’s face.
After the success and adulations that kissed his face, Imtiaz narrated the script of ‘Rockstar’ to Ranbir who instantly showed his thumbs up. And now, that the heroine has been finalised, the film is expected to go on the floors soon.
The film is being produced by Ashtavinayaka who also made Jab We Met with Imtiaz. Rockstar is one of Imtiaz’s most ambitious projects.”
